The new Schools List is here!

This is our most popular feature and it has been improved dramatically. Every certified school in the USA, Canada and in other places can be found here. The basic data on every known PPG school out there will be added to this list and most are updated by the schools themselves. Since the service continues to be free to schools, it is quite complete. If a school is not on the list, it will be added once we are notified and verify it's appropriateness (must be a PPG school actively conducting training among other things).

If you are a school and certified for PPG Instruction by a recognized organization then:

USPPA is a strong advocate of quality training and recommends choosing a USPPA or USUA certified school. There is no additional cost involved but their instructors have demonstrated significant skills and experience to earn their ratings. Plus the USPPA instructors have agreed to a set of standards which are beneficial to the student's safety both during training and afterward.

We can only verify the information on USPPA/USUA instructors who also have to be members. Any school that suggests the training for a non-PG pilot can be accomplished in a day or so is leading you astray. Most reputable instructors say that 5 days is a minimum to to become a competent beginner solo pilot (PPG2) level. Of course initial solo can happen in less time but that does not make one a pilot.

SIV Courses guide a pilot through various wing malfunctions and other maneuvers so that he can know how to recover if they happen in flight. These are listed on the "Resources" page. If a PPG training school also offers SIV courses then it will be listed on their school information as well as the SIV courses section.
