Getting
Rated
This describes the process to recognize your flight skills
through USPPA/USUA pilot ratings. A new pilot seeks out a USPPA instructor by finding the nearest school
on the Schools page. That instructor will
describe their schools charges and training program. Upon completion of any
rating the pilot submits his USPPA rating application along with the
instructors signature and dues (if new member). You will receive a card
indicating his new rating within 30 days.
There is no charge for becoming rated.

Application
The process for instructors is the same only they go through
an Instructor Administrator who fills out and signs the rating application.
To get PPG Ratings PPG1 through PPG3
Rating Application
|
| No experience |
Experienced |
| Through your instructor, earn
each rating, PPG1 through PPG3, building experience and demonstrating
skills as you go. Written tests go along with skills demonstration for
each level. A pilot may also proceed immediately to the PPG3 rating (and
take only the PPG3 test) if he has logged the time, takes the appropriate
written and demonstrates the necessary skills. |
Show logged experience, pass the written test
then demonstrate skills and knowledge at the appropriate level to an
instructor. The pilot and instructor signs and mails in the waiver and
rating application.
A pilot can earn, at once, whichever rating he has can
demonstrate the skills for, passes the written test and has
logged experience for. |
|
Once these are complete, the instructor
fills out the rating application and mails it to USPPA.
Pilot then gets card back reflecting his/her Rating |
