Thanks to Matt Conrad for updating our information
You never want to fly without being weather wise and now it's a bit
easier.
Here's an opportunity to see some benefit from
some of those federal tax dollars. Free and official online weather briefing
services for paramotor pilots are now available to USPPA pilots courtesy of the FAA Funded DUAT (Dual Users Access Terminal) program.
To register with DUAT you will need to send a
fax to (888)445-3828 or by mail to:
Data Transformation Corp
108D Greentree Road
Turnersville, NJ 08012
The following information must be included:
-
Copy of your USPPA membership card or other pilot certificate,
-
Full Name, Address and E-Mail,
-
Date Of Birth,
-
Daytime Phone Number.
You should note on the application that you are an
ultralight pilot requesting an account. They will give you an account
number and you will then have access to the full range of aviation weather
services including restricted airspace and temporary flight restrictions.
This is where pilots get official weather briefings.
You will receive an email letting you know
when you have been added to the database.
Login at
https://www.duat.com/form/getaccess.frm for the first time using your Last Name and
Pilot Certificate Number (USPPA member number) and be required to create a password.
You can also enter your own Personal Access Code or leave it blank
and a System Access Code will be assigned to you. This Access code
is what you will need to login into DUAT.com along with the password you
created and your Aircraft ID (Your USPPA member number).
Enter the letter "U" in front of
your aircraft USPPA member number.
If this process doesn't work the same way for
you please let us know so I can pass that along to other pilots. Weather
briefings by phone (800-WX-BRIEF) are always available.
Please send any feedback to
theusppa@gmail.com.
Stick to good air and enjoy your flying! |
