Looking Back
Whew! It was a success. An interesting perspective comes from
the person at the point and that is what I provide here. Full coverage will come
in the July UltraFlight magazine - this is just a quick epilogue by Jeff Goin.
Pictured right is Phil Russman getting close to make the best
use of his wide angle lens. He shot video of many while in flight as well as on
the ground. His plan is to make the production carry broader appeal by
showcasing the sport.

1. Up high this flyer looks around for traffic. A very good idea.
2. Surprisingly there was very little congestion. Light winds kept everyone from
bunching up.
3. Starting a run down the foot-drag runway.

1. Spectators view of the entrance.
2. A pilot scoots around the pattern's outside.
3. Pilot briefing by Eric Dufour just prior to the Mass Launch.
4. Chris Bowles on climbout. No, he shouldn't have been there! By John Phillips.

1. David Warfield Checks in Chris Collins and his friend.
2. Pilots relax under the "big" tent and watch the show.
3. Phil Russman video targets Chris Bowles (on the yellow Silex)
during a particularly long foot drag.

1. A different angle to see how the campers are arrayed.
2. Phil, Rob Reynolds, Chris Bowles and myself had an impromptu kiting
war; the pilot of nylon behind them is good evidence.

1. Just checkin' it out.
2. Phil takes it out on me. I hope his helmet cam is on.
3. Pilots spread out to enjoy some sweet evening air. We strobed all the
way to 30 minutes past sunset. Steady winds all day made launching easy
although the prop guys didn't do much business!
